Use pre-defined / other user's templates?

Postby thomashygum » Mon Oct 21, 2013 10:52 pm

Is there a collection of pre-defined whole website templates, which I can start with somewhere? Can user's share their templates with each other, so I can start off with somebody else's?

Hi,

Since each website has different features and functionalities, there are no whole templates available.

If you already have a live website or know of one that you like the style of, it is possible to use a Live Web View component to view the site within a design. You can then place components on top of the Live Web View and recreate the layout. There is a blog post that covers this workflow that can found here: Add Live Views to Your Wireframes & Prototypes. In the post and video it refers to the iFrame component which was renamed to the current name of Live Web View.

Currently, the only way to transfer data between two accounts is to copy and paste components. While you can import Templates, Masters and Assets from the Library tab under the Folder menu, this is only for other projects on your account. There have been some plans for users to create open libraries of their wireframes, but it is not currently on the roadmap.

this feature is definitely required, you could even earn extra money by providing beatiful templates, assets, webpages, components bla bla - parts or whole websites, and you could have more user interaction in the forum if the users could share those kind of stuff.
