Synchronization of asset library with remote filesystem

Postby brad.swerdfeger » Tue Apr 06, 2010 5:13 pm

The process of adding assets (CSS/JavaScript/Sprites) one-by-one is incredibly clumsy and non-scalable. Furthermore, the asset library isn't version-controlled and can't synchronize with any VCS that our teams might be using.

It would be great to be able to synchronize folders in the asset library via FTP or with version control systems (Subversion, Git, etc.). At the very least, one should be able to upload a zip file or something and have it extract automatically.

As a workaround, one might suggest to link to externally-hosted JavaScript, but this is not possible due to cross-site scripting restrictions. The only solution at this point is to use IFrames.

Brad,

Thank you for the feedback. You currently can upload multiple files at once to the assets library. You can do this by selecting multiple files after clicking Choose File(s) during the upload process.
