Hi,

Setting a fixed position while scrolling for elements is currently only available via CSS.

You can have a fixed background image for your design, but it will not work in Review mode (HTML exports will work though). Here is an example code that will achieve what you want:

Code: Select all

.floating { position: fixed !important; right 0px; top: 5px !important; }

Apply the .floating class to an image component that has your background image and place the component behind all other components.

Is there still no way of having fixed content in Review mode? Makes it very difficult to share this with an audience and get real feedback.

Hi Tim,

The fixed content is applied as CSS directly to the design so it can appear as floating in the design window, but Review mode views the design in a seperate window above it. The CSS is unable to inject itself into the core code that Review uses (massive security reasons), so it will not be directly possible to have fixed content with it.

We do have plans to add the ability to add in a more mainstream feature when we add in more dynamic features, but fixed position is based on a user's resolution and it can be tricky to setup. If it does get implemented, we'll post a followup.

So it looks like you can sort of get around this by telling people to open up the print view window. This then has all of the fixed styles working correctly. Whilst they can't comment or anything on this view at least it allows me to show users what it will actually be like.

Perhaps adding a button to allow this might be a quick win?

Thank

Hi Tim,

Printable View and Get Image works in a way that it takes just the design in the current state and opens itself in a new window without any additional layers. It can work to see the design in the purest form (similar to what is found in the HTML export), but it does save any stateful actions that took place before opening the new view. If someone triggered a popup than it will automatically be open in the new view.

The option to open both views are already in the View menu and Share menu for easy access, but there is some room in the toolbar for an extra button or two. I'll pass the idea to the developers.
