Move containers to a specific x / y coordinate.. w/ state

Postby jaronoff » Wed Mar 19, 2014 1:50 pm

I have a prototype that has a sidebar. Each of the parts of the sidebar, have a open and a closed state. I have these as different containers, within another master container. When I have one open, the other states of the other containers change to closed. That is fine. However, I want to move the containers that are in a collapsed state down by some Y degree, to account for the opening of another container. I for the life of me cannot figure out how to do this.

Thank you in advance if you have any help!

Josh,

When you say "move" do you mean have an transition animation show the components actually moving or do you mean simply having it in one position and then another after the state has been activated?

For the later, you would need to have two copies of the component. One at position x, the other at position y. The first one would be visible only when the state was in it's first value. The second copy would be visible only when the state was in it's second value.

Hmmm.... OK. So I need to have two states for each of these, and then move them accordingly. That seems to make sense.

Thanks!
