Rename menu item when right clicking a component in sidebar

Postby Wes Vasher » Fri May 09, 2014 6:50 am

I do a lot of naming of components to help me stay organized. As far as I know now, I have to select the component in the right sidebar, then scroll down in the inspector to the bottom. What I'd like is to just right click the component and have a Rename option, similar to how renaming works in the left sidebar.

Hi,

Thanks for the request.

You are correct, the current only place to name a component is in the inspector. Naming components is a good way to stay organized that many users do not fully utlize. If the option was more accessible, it may help people make that connection. We'll pass the suggestion along to our developers.

Thanks again.

Hi,

Just wanted to update the thread.

We plan to have a future release late June/early July that has this functionality. The right-click context menu will now have a "Rename Component" that will take to straight to the Name field in the inspector for that component.
